PLEURE EN SILENCE

Una storia vera. Luglio 1989, Nord della Francia. Kristina (19) scappa di casa. E’ la maggiore di quattro sorelle. L’unica a conoscenza dei suoi piani è Ida, soprannominata Dada (17).  Lei promette a Krisitna di mantenere il segreto; le altre due sorelle, Françoise (18) e Elodie (12), così come la loro madre, non sanno niente e scoprono la lettera d’addio di Kristina il mattino successivo. Poi inizia l’orrore: il padre di Ida, un gigante di oltre 130 chili e alto 1,85 m., prende un congedo dal lavoro per cercare Kristina. Furioso, prende Dada come capro espiatorio e scarica tutta la sua rabbia su di lei, prendendola a calci e pugni. La chiama sempre «ritardata». Violento, neo nazista, odia la sua Dada, considerandola debole a causa dei suoi frequenti malanni e fa di tutto per mandarla in agonia e punirla ulteriormente, prendendosela anche con sua moglie. Anche se tutto il vicinato è a conoscenza di ciò che sta accadendo, nessuno ha il coraggio di fare qualcosa perché il padre li minaccia subito con le armi. Dada è così, da sola. L’orrore dura 8 giorni. I colpi sono di una tale violenza che causano a Dada dei problemi di incontinenza. I suoi unici momenti di pace sono quelli in cui lei riesce a fuggire per sniffare la colla.Questo le permette di «non sentire più i colpi» perché lei deve «soffrire e piangere in silenzio».

A true story. July 1989, North of France. Kristina (19) runs away from home. She is the eldest in a family of four girls. The only one aware of her plans is Ida, nicknamed Dada (17) She promises Kristina to keep the secret ; the other two sisters Francoise (18) and Elodie (12) as well as their mother don’t hear a thing and they all discover Kristina’s farewell letter the next morning. Then horror starts : Ida’s father, a giant of over 130 kilos and 1m85 tall, takes a leave of absence from work in order to search for Kristina. Furious, he makes Dada the scape goat and discharges all of his anger on her, kicking her and beating her with his fists. He always refers to her as ´ Retarded ª. Violent, neo-nazi, he hates his Dada, considering her weak because of her frequent illnesses.He will do everything to put her through agony and to further punish her, he will take it on his wife as well. Even though the whole neighborhood is aware of what is happening, nobody dares to do anything because the father immediately threatens with guns. Dada is thus, on her own. The horror will last 8 days. The blows are of such violence that they cause Dada an incontinence problem. Her only moments of peace are when she manages to escape to sniff glue. That enables her to ´ no longer feel the blows since she must ´ suffer & cry in silence.
