In one week you’ll dicover LFF 2007

There is just a week to go to the 10th of August, the first of the five days full of events, between continuity and newness, of the 8th edition of the Lucania Film Festival. First of all the locations will change, even if it overstays the will of the organizers to set up informal spaces for the fruition of the short films chosen among the more than 500 works received from 54 different countries. This year, indeed, the screenings will be in Rione Terravecchia, the primal centre of the city of Pisticci, which it will become THE CITY OF SHORT FILMS. The number of sections changes too, which will be 6: together with the international sections “Fiction” and “Animation” that since the beginning of the event coexist with that dedicated to the lucanian authors, the even more prestigious and qualitative “Lucania Film Makers”, and with the other international section dedicated to the critical situations complaint “Cinegiornalismo”, there will be the section “Doc Cinergie” for documentaries on environmental and sustainable development topics, and the section “Piccoli Piccoli Area Scuola”, which make more heterogeneous the audience of LFF, already pied in terms of geographical provenance. And it will be even more the people protagonist of the Lucania Film Festival. Thanks to the You Tube Free Screen competition, which will involve the ones who will decide to sift the web searching for all that can express better their sensibility, with the possibility of showing it on the screens of the Festival. But also through the competition for the writing and the production of a thematic spot after having attended some free workshops on Cinema. At the end, but not less important, the usual surplus of the Lucania Film Festival, constituted by a lot of side events interchanged with the screenings: in addition to the traditional explosive closing concert, that of the irish punk group of the Greenland Whalefishers, there will be the show of Rocco Papaleo and his Band, with a performance expressly worked out to be launched at the Lucania Film Festival and then to go on tour in Italy. There will be also videoinstallations, shows and exhibitions of regional characteristic products with tasting stands that will escort the visitor along all the path set up in the wonderful medieval scenery of the tiny streets of Rione Terravecchia.
