The waiting is over, here it’s the first night

The waiting lasted a year is over. Already a hundred of people, among guests, authors and visitors come in Borgo Terravecchia of Pisticci, that from today and for five days it becomes the City of Cinema for the 8th edition of Lucania Film Festival. Till now the languages spoken through the streets of Pisticci, in addition to the Italian and to different kind of lucanian dialects, are already those of the international jurors come in the morning: Tiziana Loschi from France, Daniel Erdelyi from Hungary and Ugis Olte from Latvia. The day has gone by with the view of the short films of the section Piccoli Piccoli and Cinergia, the first dedicated to the shorts realized during a training project held in the primary schools by the Lucania Film Festival through Namavista, the second dedicated to “Mariano Pugliese” and focused on the energy saving and the renewable sources. Apart from cinema there has been space for the art through the opening of the videoinstallation of the artist coming from Potenza Mico Somma “Oil non oil”. Among the so many guests of this year of the prestigious international lucanian Festival, the return of Rocco Papaleo, in fact the eclectic artist known for the character of the lucanian boy in Classe di Ferro and for his different performances in many films of Leonardo Pieraccioni, have already received and granted the invitation of the LFF in the 2005 edition. Rocco Papaleo will give his contribution meeting tomorrow, together with Cosimo Fusco – an other lucanian actor – the young lucanian authors of the section Lucania Film Makers. It will be a moment of comparison and of idea exchange very important for the lucanian authors because, even if the Basilicata has become “pilgrimage place” of a lot of national and international directors who have discovered its strengthen in the cinema location, it still boasts the sad primacy of non offering at the community a permanent cinema training reality. Besides the actor, who we will see soon on the screen in the new film of Leonardo Pieraccioni, will do a performance for the public of LFF, in a concert exclusively made for the event and that gives the off at his national tournee. The Off-hour of tomorrow will be dedicated to the film of the lucanian director Federica di Giacomo, winner of the last edition of the Torino Film Festival, whose title is “Il lato grottesco della vita”.
